The San Juan church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Southern Leyte. It was built in honor of the town’s patron saint, John the Baptist. It has a magnificent architecture designed and built by our forefathers.

There are things that dissatifies travellers from Cebu, who wishes to go to South Leyte.
1. Virtually every fast ferry are shut down for traffic to all towns, Maasin City included.
2. For those who wish to go to San Juan, there is no loger direct boat service, forcing people to ride a humpy bus or v-hire to the place for three hours or more, -a road also exposed to hold-ups in the mountain pass between Sogod and Kabalian. Do something!
