Last July 6, 2008, our family went to Amparaiso Beach Resort, bringing no food because we know that Amparaiso Beach Resort was capable of serving our needs. That day we celebrated the wedding anniversary of our Uncle Nick and Aunt Gonie. To our disappointment, the resort management told us that their cook was currently on-leave. Well, we have no other choice but to go to Kinamot Restaurant in Abgao, Maasin City.

On July 21, 2008, we again went to Amparaiso Beach Resort. That time, we were celebrating the 70th birthday of our Auntie Pening. So, to make sure that we would be served by the resort management with the foods we need, we contacted them, informed them that we would be going in to Amparaiso Beach Resort. And of course ordered the recipes we need.

The hotel’s check in/out counter

I accidentally visited the Las Vegas Resort Hotel just this April 2008 when my girlfriend and I roam around the town of Hinunangan in search for the possible venue of our wedding reception. It is located in Barangay Talisay, Hinungan, Southern Leyte… maybe 1/2 to 1 kilometers away from the town proper (going to Silago, Southern Leyte).

The shed houses (others call it Kiosks, and people here in Hinunangan call it cottages) are spacious and good enough for a family-beach gathering.

They also have restaurant or a Karaoke bar where you can eat and enjoy the fun of singing karaoke music. Often times, this place is rented for the reception of wedding, birthday, and other celebration.

The Las Vegas Resort Hotel has nice guest rooms. The Hotel building is located at the back of the karaoke bar. Each of the rooms has 2 bed, 1 refregerator, TV with cable-channels and a bathroom. You can stay here in 24 hours for just PhP1,500.

And if you choose to stay in a room at the second floor of the hotel building, you’ll have the chance to observe the Hinunangan Bay and enjoy looking at the St. Peter and St. Paul islands.

The Las Vegas Resort Hotel of Hinunangan, Southern Leyte has a spacious conference room too wherein you can use for seminar, or even for reception for just PhP3,500 only.

So, by just looking at the name “Amparaiso”, we can immediately think of its meaning as the paradise in barangay Amparo.

You said Amparaiso don’t need your money, what does it mean?

Okay. I went to Amparaiso beach resort twice already: First during the birthday of my aunt last November 20, 2007; Second during our family (unofficial) reunion last December 9, 2007.

These two events are all memorable to me.

First during my aunt’s birthday, our Toyota Innova stuck on the sand at their parking area. To tell you, their parking area is not really good for cars to park. They better ask their architect for the improvement of it. Or they can visit the Kinamot restaurant and have a look at their parking area.

Secondly, during the 2nd time we went to Amparaiso beach resort I and our family really enjoyed their obsolete Videoke set. Few of the songs we entered were defective. I don’t know if their other customers complained about this.

And did you know that this morning my order were all denied by their store attendant? We liked their Calamari, Sweet and Sour (Fish), and Crispy Chicken. My aunt told me to order these but the man manning their store denied my order. It seems that they’re not interested to earn something from my orders.

And with this post, let’s visit the “Sogod Bay Scuba (Diving) Resort” in P. Burgos, Southern Leyte. It’s one of the best diving resorts here in the Philippines which will help you discover the beauty of the the Sogod Bay.

Cottage

Cottages are situated on the beach and facing the Sogod Bay. The rooms are air conditioned and has a fan and tea making devices too. Bathrooms will make you more comfortable, wherein you have the option for the hot shower.

Restaurant

You don’t have to worry about your meals while you stay here at the Sogod Bay Scuba (Diving) Resort.  They offer cold beers and soft drinks, espresso coffee plus a lnice selection of spirits and cocktails. They also served dishes like Ron’s Beef and Beer meat pies; Alisha’s steamed fish in banana leaves; curry laksa; kinalaw and the world famous Dopey Burge, and a lot more.

Diving

From the name itself of this resort, you’ll already thinking what really is the main services this resort offers to you. And that’s DIVING.

They will guide you to some diving sites in Sogod Bay.
