The trip to Isabel, Leyte is actually the first journey that I want to take using my new Honda XRM motorcycle. But lot reasons why I failed to do as planned.
Isabel Leyte is about 215 Kilometers away from Malitbog, Southern Leyte when running through the Leyte Highways (as shown on the image below). If I can maintain the speed of 60 Kilometers per hour, then I’ll be running the highways for 3 and a half hours straight.
(from the image above: 1 - Malitbog, Southern Leyte, 2 – Maasin,
Southern Leyte, 3- Baybay, Leyte, 4-Ormoc City, Isabe, Leyte)
I began my journey to Isabel, Leyte (Philippines) at around 9:00AM (Philippine Time). The town of Malitbog, Southern Leyte serves as my starting point. I stopped by Maasin City at around 9:45AM to perform my blogging job. Well, I need to do my job even if I am in the middle of my trips and I don’t have laptop and own internet connection so I need to stop by on places where internet connection and cafes exist.
At 3:00PM, I left Maasin City and started rolling the highways at the range of speed of 60 KPH to 80 KPH. Even on sharp curves and winding roads, I managed to run at 65 KPH without applying breaks. That was really dangerous but I also need to do that as a way of training my self in advanced motorcycle driving. After all, motorcycling became my new hobby now.
I arrived in Isabel, Leyte at 8:00PM. I would be there earlier than that if I was not lost in Ormoc City. I was roaming around the city looking for exit to Isabel, Leyte. And I didn’t find it until I asked somebody the direction of the exit.

I am curious about Isabel since my father had been here long time ago when at that time duna pa silay napanag-iyang basakan(ricefield) sa Barangay Bantigue kaniadto(personally owned by my fathers grandparents actually but also sold already).Anyone native of Bantigue,Isabel ,Leyte read this message help me to find some friends of father, and in fact I want to visit this place personally not in the distant future. I love to see this place and to meet some friends of my father(if they’re still alive or their children too.).
God bless, and Happy New Year,2011 for all Isabelnons!
I’m going to Isabel after Xmas. The people I’m visiting live at Purok 1, Libertad. Is Libertad a long way from the town proper? I was thinking of billeting in a hotel or inn at the town proper and just take ride or 2 to Liberatad if I want to visit them. What would be a good hotel to bring my 7-year-old? She would be very happy if there was a pool where she can pass the time. TIA.
